Demon Sands: Third D&D Online Expansion Releases

Since it seems like mainly only the hardest of the hardcore D&D fans are still playing Dungeons & Dragons Online, I’ll post this here.
The third expansion to DDO, Demon Sands, is available now as a free download for the MMO’s players. Aside from the expected new dungeons, spells, feats, and the like, the big additions include an auction house, a higher level cap, more solo material, and a system for PVP battles (in the form of tournaments and tavern brawls). The sum of the three expansions now claims to have increased the game’s content by 40% of what was released at its launch last February. You can check out Turbine’s press release about the expansion here, a preview of the new content over at mmorpg.com and from the video at Gametrailers.com, or see the additions in exhaustive detail on DDO’s forums here.
All in all, while I don’t expect Demon Sands will convince me to go back to D&D Online, this is definitely the most tempted I’ve been yet… Maybe if they just made their elf boys look a bit more bishonen.

I’ve yet to read a single positive review of DnD Online, which is really sad. The first coverage of the game usually mentioned that it had very little space to move around in, which kinda sucks. I love Dungeons and Dragons, but I’m just not wow’d enough to shell out a monthly fee to play this game.
