A Brief History of the Game

The guys over at RPGnet take their gaming pretty seriously, so much so that they have a long-running column-turned-history-lesson on the pen-and-paper RPG industry of yore. They newest lecture is an interesting piece on the company Lion Rampant, a group from which such gaming personalities as Jonathan Tweet, Lisa Stephens, John Nephew, and Nicole Lindroos call themselves alumni. Older articles include looks into the closets of Wizards of the Coast, Paizo Publishing, Chaosium, Pagan Publishing, and ICE (in two parts), just to name a few. It’s a great chance to find out a bit more about the people and companies making your games, and learn that sometimes the real-life drama is better then anything that ever makes it into the games.
