Deluxury Divinity

Devine.jpg

Perhaps better titled Complete Divine II (making the first, Incomplete Divine), May's 200+ pages of feats and prestige classes from Wizards of the Coast is Complete Champion. But rather than just trying to sell you on more of the same for your cleric, Champion looks like it's going to add a bit of soul to your holy rollings. Take a close look at that subtitle there.

I'm not trying to be one of those bitches who points out spelling mistakes for a "beat the editor point." Rather, I honestly hope this awesome misspelling (or brazen coolness) gets to see print and maybe even reflects some of the books contents. Now I totally want to play a cleric with a wide-brimmed helmet, crushed velvet robe, and holy symbol the size of a hub cap. Yeah, now that's "Devine!"

I'm really hoping it includes a new base class for spontaneously casting druids. Failing that, I hope it's not ABSOLUTELY FUCKING WORTHLESS like Complete Scoundrel was.

Meh, I haven't had a chance to really look at Complete Scoundrel, so I can't give support or dissent.

As for this one, I kinda wish it was around a year ago when I was playing a hyper-faithful (but not religious) lawful good rogue. I'd like to see if it has different personality suggestions for paladins; it doesn't seem like there are too many ways to play one.

I can't be too hateful about Complete Scoundrel. I made my Ranger/Ninja into an Avenged Executioner, one of the neat prestige classes in there that's basically an excuse to make the Punisher in DnD.

Spellwarp Sniper would probably be a great prestige class to mess around with if I could bring myself to care about it.

Just the art for the Malconvoker makes me want to try out one of those. I always have some uppity paladin in my groups who gets his shinny silver panties in a wad whenever I summon a demon. Seems liek a good way around that.

And girls who like girls who like breastplates!
