Hobby Games 101

The wandering samurai over at Green Ronin Publishing look to be taking a bit of a break from both the swords and sorceries and the mutants and masterminds for a brief scholarly diversion. Headed out around this August, GR has announced Hobby Games: The 100 Best, a look at the best games of the last fifty years. Edited by best-selling author James Lowder, the 400+ page project sounds like a nerdcore textbook, with essays from D&D granddaddy Gary Gygax, Steve Jackson (of the self same named game company), board game hero Reiner Knizia, Oblivion creator Bruce Nesmith, and lots more from designers of board, role playing, and video games alike. You can check out the detils and author list on the Ronins' press release.
The whole project sounds fascinatingly educational. I've also got my fingers crossed to finally get some epic-level stats for Richard Garfield and Ed Greenwood.
