Ziggurat Con: Make Characters, Not War

For anyone vacationing in scenic and sandy Iraq this summer, be sure to stop by Tallil Airbase in June for the first (hopefully not annual) Ziggurat Con. Organized by a company of gamers in uniform, Ziggurat Con has the dubious honor of being the first gaming convention ever to be held in a war zone. Attendees are encouraged to take a break and kick back with snacks, soda, and their favorite RPGs (roleplaying games, not rocket propelled grenades).
Good luck and best wishes to all those attending, but, for my dollar, sharing the Indianapolis Convention Center and RCA Dome with a bunch of rowdy Colts fans at Gen Con Indy every August is about all the conflict in need in my gaming conventions.
ZigCon takes place at Camp Adder/Tallil Airbase this June 9th from 1200 to 2100 hours.

And you thought your local cons had trouble getting guests of honor?
I think this is a fantastic idea. I've been spreading the news around, and have set up a web site as an information clearing house: www.toys4troops.org
Thanks for spreading the word!
Operation Dice Drop is underway in Oregon, with my wife's Ladies' Terrorist and Knitting Circle doing Odd Things with Leather (i.e., making dice bags) starting Friday night here in Portland.
It can take up to five weeks for parcels to get through, and there's a non-trivial 'shrinkage' problem with theft from shipments from Home, so ship early, ship often!
