GAMA Tradeshow Wrap-Ups

The GAMA (Game Manufacturers Association) Tradeshow took place last week. Arguably both the gaming industry's most exciting and most boring show, game companies and retailers descend on Las Vegas (that center of industry and legitimate business) to show off their plans for the coming year, talk about new products, discuss industry trends and concerns, have all manner of meetings, and—most importantly—bitch abut how they would do things if they were in charge. Oh, and drink, gamble, and make all manner of regrettable choices, that all happens too.
Game store owner John Riley over at ICv2 is freshly back from the show and has his insider's take on the news and events from the show, including WizKids's new Star Wars minis game, Wizards of the Coast's ongoing 'tude, organized CCGs, and a bunch of other thoughts. Scott Tepper from Boardgame News also has the board gamer's view of the show. But probably the best coverage comes from GamingReport and James Mishler's day by day run down of events and announcements. All very much worth the read, though a few more details about hijinxs behind the Luxor might make them a little more exciting. Maybe next year...
