Monster Camp: The LARP Documentary

Attendees of the Seattle International Film Festival are pretty serious about their movies. As such, I don't think the rest of the crowd—many in costume and with foam weaponry—appreciated how funny I thought the screening of the new LARP documentary Monster Camp was. Filmed in and around Seattle, the film is an in-depth, personal, and hilarious (perhaps unintentionally so) look into the lives of the hardest of hardcore Live Action RolePlayers. The Monster Camp website has a ton of details on the documentary, including a picture gallery, FAQ, "Are You A Monster" test, and details on where it'll be showing in the upcoming months as it works the film-fest circuit. Well worth the time, whether you love LARPing, love watching people LARP, or just want a candid look at your brother and sister gamers.
