Gaming Artist Glen Angus Passes On

ivory-mask.jpg

Fantasy and sci-fi gaming lost one of its most insightful and imaginative visionaries this week with the unexpected death of artist Glen Angus. His often stylized, often surreal fantasy art having graced the card backs and pages of innumerable Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Star Wars, and other cards, books, and games, his unique views into the realms of the fantastic served to elevate the games we all love from childish indulgences to real works of art. Fellow artist Matt Cavotta gives an honest eulogy over on the Wizards of the Coast site and also shows off a gallery of some of Glen's best-known art. There are also details there for contributing to the Glen Angus memorial fund. All of our hearts and best wishes go out to Mr. Angus's family, as do our assurances that his incredible vision—that sparked the imaginations of so many gamers—will be sorely missed.

And girls who like girls who like breastplates!
