Redundantly Awesome: Heroes Heroclixs

HeroesTaki.jpg

Further cementing their control over all things tiny and superheroes related, this weekend Topps and WizKids Games announced that they’ve nabbed the license to produce trading card games and Heroclix figures based off the hit NBC show Heroes.

Trading card manufacturer Topps has been tapped for a full line of trading cards featuring the Heroes characters and in-depth episodic coverage. The trading card packs will also include randomly inserted one-of-a-kind rare cards such as autographs, hand-drawn artist sketches and cards embedded with a piece of actual costume material worn on the show. WizKids Inc., a subsidiary of Topps and creator of the award-winning “Clix” Collectible Miniatures Game system, will be adding Heroes into their HeroClix line, which already includes characters from the DC, Marvel and Dark Horse universes.

Although I usually run hot and cold regarding TCGs, cards with “costume material” sounds kind of cool. But more importantly, does this mean our dreams finally come true and we're all just months away from owning our own clicky little George Takeis (and Malcom McDowells)? I know I've got my fingers crossed!
