Dragonlance Trailer Online: Squinting Helps!
Okay, so it's like you've waited nine months and the baby's finally here—but it's one of those beat-up, smoosh-face brand ugly babies. But all the parts work and it's still what you've been waiting almost a year for so, of course, you take it home and you still love it and all... but you just know it's going to have one tough road to hoe.
Yeah. That's kind of the deal with the Dragonlance movie. The trailer's up on YouTube now... and the signs are not good. That’s pretty much all I’m going to say… except for that that’s one ugly baby.

I was a big fantasy fan when I was quite young, and I remember getting some of the books on my 12th birthday (The Chronicles Trilogy, I think) and I liked it.
I even bought some Dragonlance Role Playing Campaigns in english (i'm french), although I didn't know at all how to play AD&D, and never owned the game.
But that poor "movie" looks like it was made in the 80's... The character-designer must have worked on She-Ra or bad Hanna-Barbera cartoons...
The 3D is horrible, they couldn't choose between a cel-shaded or realistic style and went for a mix,... but it doesn't merge with the (badly) hand-drawn characters.
Record of Lodoss war is quite old now, but it's still one of the best adaptation of a fantasy setting (and the dragons aren't ugly misshaped polygons)
Oh my. All we need is for Venger to show up to make my flashback complete.
A) I think you hoe rows, not roads.
B) WTH!? Who mixes 2d and 3d animation in the same movie. I love me some D&D, but I'm not a huge DL fan to begin with. This is probably going to be a big miss for me.
That series was my first intro to D&D and fantasy literature after the LoTR and Narnia. WHY!!!!!!!!! must they ruin it so? *weeps*
Oh dear. Oh dear. It's like a car accident. It's horrible but you can't stop looking...
I'm glad I was never a fan of Dragonlance.
