Players To Design New Marvel TCG Vs. System Expansion Set

Upper Deck Entertainment has announced that the new expansion of its Marvel Vs. System TCG will be designed by means of online voting. It’s kind of like all those “Making Magic” featurettes that are sometimes held on the Magic: the Gathering website, only exponentially so—players will be involved in designing every aspect of the set, from mechanics to characters to storylines.
“This is the first time we’ve ever incorporated input on this large of scale where the fans are designing nearly the entire set,” said Vs. System Product Manager Hyrum Savage. “We wanted to reward Vs. System players who have been dedicated to the game throughout the years by producing a set based on what they would like to see in the game.”
Voting started November 5th and lasts until December 31st at the Vs. System website. If you’re a fan of the game and want to have a say, head on over! (And maybe even check out the GayGamer comic blog, Pink Kryptonite, to get some ideas about which queer Marvel Characters should be in the set.) Kind of makes me wish that more card games—or even RPGs—would try something similar. Tabletop Games are one of those rare situations, I think, in which the fans often really do know best.
