Way-Out Wednesday: House Of Whack

22houseofwhack.jpg

This is a first in two ways: the first Way-Out Wednesday game that's a board game, and also the first Way-Out Wednesday game that has JUST come out!

Welcome to DreamPunk's House of Whack, where you explore an ever-shifting extradimensional mansion straight from some Carroll/Escherian nightmare that is different every time you play. The board game where imagination is essential to strategy and is chock-filled with "bizarre rooms, fiendish minions and outrageous artifacts"—learn more after the jump!

In House of Whack, you play a guest of the House, trying to survive conflicts against other minions, residents and players. Death isn't the end—you merely have to start over from the beginning. Escape is not that easy.

Use a variety of traps, artifacts, weapons, twists, props, arcana and inner strengths to best your opponents and win Gold Hearts When the "The End" tile is drawn, the countdown begins—will you be the one left with the most Gold Hearts when the game is over?

This game seems wonderfully bizarre. Just from browsing the website and some of the PDFs contained therein, some of the cards and characters I've seen include: Karaoke (you must sing a song using all the text on your current room tile as lyrics), Brain in a Vat, Red Room, Throne of Swift and Whimsical Judgment (awesome) and over 60 playable characters that range from steampunk clockworkers and marionettes to mad scientists, earth goddesses, kitsune and sentient numbers (again, awesome).

If this stuff strikes your fancy, which it ought to, support this burgeoning gaming company—use your powers of Swift and Whimsical Judgment for good!

And girls who like girls who like breastplates!
