Star Trek CCG Comes To An End

This makes me pretty sad. Decipher has just announced that the Star Trek CCG is ending, with its last expansion set "What You Leave Behind" (sold exclusively through Hill's wholesale gaming) scheduled for the last week in December.
This CCG has been around for a long time—1994, to be exact—and I remember it even being popular when I started gaming in the first place, all of seven years old. I never played it myself much, but I cherished the free cards I got in Inquest every now and then, and being an avid Lord of the Rings CCG player at one point (a game also by Decipher) and witnessing it ending not too long ago, I know how this must feel to a fan.
It also made me think about the particular challenges of designing a final expansion. Decipher wants this expansion to "complete the game"—what would a last set of Magic look like? Pokémon?

That's too bad...I always wanted to get into that. I never did. 13 years of CCG....maybe someday I will....
I used to play, but when they went into a second edition that invalidated all of my old cards, I just couldn't play any more.
