Appreciate A Dragon Day - January 16

Believe it or not, today is Appreciate a Dragon Day. At least that's what the folks over at Wizards of the Coast are calling it. I was very skeptical, I admit, at first. But then I called myself on it. I was just letting the bubblegum atmosphere I'd been feeling from those coast dwellers antagonize me. It so happens my husband is a bit of a dragon guy himself... so I did some research and discovered that WotC is right and just latching on to an existing declared day (not so different from talk like a pirate day, another equally strange yet legitimate holiday).
So, Wizards suggests here that you celebrate by doing some of the following:
[via Wizards of the Coast]
- Show your appreciation for two of 4th Edition’s new metallic dragons by “friending” them on Facebook and giving them gifts.
- Share the stories of the dragons you’ve encountered in previous campaigns.
- Play Dungeons & Dragons and incorporate a dragon into your current campaign.
- Invite a friend to try Dungeons & Dragons for the first time.
- Visit your local library and look for a newspaper article or book about dragons; explore the myths about dragons.
- Pop some popcorn and watch movies about dragons, both friendly and unfriendly dragons.
