Dungeons & Dragons Fourth Edition For Dummies Announced

69dndfordummies.jpg

This is some good news—according to its Amazon page, Dungeons & Dragons Fourth Edition For Dummies is scheduled for a July 21st, 2008 release!

The first Dungeons & Dragons For Dummies book was a fantastic little thing written by D&D game designers that offered some nice advice for veterans and excellent clarifications for anyone rusty on the game's rules or RPG etiquette in general. It really helped me make full use of the D&D combat system when I decided to make my first melee character, and I'm glad that this resource will also be available in the next generation for anyone who needs it (e.g. people like me, who find crunch fun but scary).

Of course, the new edition will have a few extras:

Dungeons & Dragons Fourth Edition For Dummies is the only introductory guide that uses plain-English to explain what you need to know to start your very own D&D campaign. Topics covered include:

* Finding a Game
* Learning the Rules
* Choosing a Character
* Creating a Character
* D&D etiquette
* Becoming a Dungeon Master
* ...and Much More!

Newly revised material includes two new chapters: Building Your Character Online and Playing Your Best Online, as well as cool new powers for fighters, rogues, wizards, clerics and high-level monsters.
